The Old Manse

Built in 1770, this beautifully preserved home served as a meeting place for Transcendentalist writers. Home to both Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne at different times. Guided tours showcase original furnishings and family heirlooms. Overlooks the Old North Bridge.
